Donor Giving guide

Sleepy Hollow Charitable Foundation (SHCF) is a 501(c)(3) California nonprofit public benefit corporation registered under Taxpayer Identification Number 46-1460882. Gifts are eligible to be tax deductible as charitable contributions. Please consult your own tax advisor, as we cannot give tax advice.

Your gifts will be deposited to the Sleepy Hollow Charitable Foundation account at Bank of the Montreal. Your gifts of securities will be received into the SHCF brokerage account at BMO affiliated investment services corporation, sold, and proceeds transferred to the SHCF main account. You will receive from the SHCF confirmation of your gifts.

We encourage you to sign a pledge form and make payments over time to fulfill your pledge. Or you may donate without signing a pledge. Download a pledge form or pledge online at here.

Flexible Pledge: Use our 2025-26 flexible pledge form to pledge multiple donation payments in 2025 and 2026 - 2029. Download, print, and complete this form and send it to shcfdonations@gmail.com.

Be prepared to give your broker these instructions, ask your broker to provide your cost basis information that you will need to determine your eligible tax deduction, and please notify the SHCF at shcfacct@gmail.com to ensure we can match your gift to your donor name(s):

Gifts from an IRA: Ask your IRA administrator for their requirements and have them make the donation by check or wire transfer as described above. As a public charity, the Sleepy Hollow Charitable Foundation can receive distributions from an IRA. For the gift to qualify as your required minimum withdrawal (RMW) and not be counted as taxable income to you, the gift must be made directly to the charitable foundation.
