Sleepy Hollow & Friends, celebrate America's 250th together on July 4th with a fun run, parade, BBQ, live music by King Tide, Shave Ice stand, Hog Island Oysters, and more!
Join what is the best day of Summer in the Hollow! If able, please register with the number of kids and adults attending. This helps us with planning food & drink quantities.
Volunteers are needed to make this fantastic community day possible. Decorators, bakers, grillers, sellers, kids activities & more! If you haven't already, please sign up for a brief shift and support your community. There are opportunities to help prep the day before and if you have any questions about how to get involved, please email shhaevents@gmail.com.
Parade on Butterfield! Register your float or parade participation idea by email at shhajuly4th@gmail.com. Classic cars, kids on bikes, any sort of music/instrument/ensemble, dance troops and beyond. Creative, unique and new ideas welcome!
THE DAY'S EVENTS:
8:00 a.m. – FUN RUN – Sign-up begins at 8:00 a.m. near the entrance to Sleepy Hollow at Butterfield and Deer Hollow Road. The plan is to start the race at 8:30 a.m. to avoid conflict with the parade.
10:30 a.m. Police traffic management begins at 10:30 when the parade line up begins. Butterfield Road is closed from 11-12.)
11:00 a.m. – PARADE! – Register your float or parade participation idea at shhajuly4th@gmail.com. Classic cars, decorated bikes, scooters, dogs, etc., all welcome, we just need you to register so we can organize the line-up. You need to be at the entrance to Sleepy Hollow by 10:30 a.m. sharp with your float or parade costume on.
Note: Please limit water balloons and please no hoses. As always, water battles begin after the Fire Truck has passed. Please pick up your own debris after the parade goes by.
11:45ish – Flag raising, National Anthem, then the Pool and Bar are open.
12:00PM Pool Opens, BBQ Hot Dogs & Hamburgers grilled and salads served by volunteers in our community. See the menu below.
$10 Hot Dog includes chips, watermelon and cookie
$15 Burger, Veggie burger or Pulled Pork meal includes side salad or chips, watermelon and cookie
$15 Veg/Salad Entree included vegan burger, chips, watermelon and cookie
12:00 – 4:00 p.m. – LIVE MUSIC – Let the kids swim while you enjoy live music from the fabulous King Tide!
12:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Beer, Wine, Aperol Spritzes, N/A Beers & the usual array of sodas & seltzers will be sold at the bar. Kids snacks & drinks and cold treats.
Bring your metal SLEEPY HOLLOW pint glass or tumbler and receive $1 off each pour of beer, wine and spritzes
12:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Kids tables with festive activities for kids to enjoy! Volunteers needed to help with activity stations - older kids 10+ can earn 5 tickets for each hour they help out at a craft station - sign your older kid(s) up HERE!
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. SHAVE ICE truck will be on the grounds, courtesy of Silver Shave Ice
4:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Fresh Oyster service, DJ Music and Pool remains open 'til 8PM
8:00 p.m. Pool closes
