Why Join?
Benefits of Being a Member of the SHHA

The Sleepy Hollow Homes Association (SHHA) is a volunteer organization comprised of residents of the Hollow. The Board of Directors taps into a large network of resident volunteers to carry on the work of the original founders –

to better the Sleepy Hollow environment and provide support to it’s citizens as both homeowners and social beings.

Becoming a member of the Association is a way for residents to demonstrate their support of our local community. Membership is MANDATORY in order to participate in any of the SHHA satellite organizations which include:

  • The Sleepy Hollow Pool
  • The Sleepy Hollow Swim Team
  • The Sleepy Hollow Tennis Club
  • The Legend Club
  • Horseman’s Association of Sleepy Hollow (HASH)
  • The Sleepy Hollow Nursery School

In addition, SHHA sponsors a host of activities for the residents of the Hollow, including a July 4th parade, BBQ and fun run, Summer Happy Hours, the President’s Party (in Dec) and the Holiday Kid’s Party (with a visit from Santa). Members may also rent the clubhouse for a private party at a deeply discounted rate.

Currently, the SHHA annual membership fee is $165 per resident address. Dues are collected in March / April every year. Non-residents may join the various satellite organizations at the non-member rate. For a list of various fees click here

SHHA Events

  • July 4th: The Fourth of July is one of the biggest summer events in Sleepy Hollow. The morning starts at 9am with a fun run for all ages. It’s followed by an old-fashioned parade at 11:00, complete with fire trucks (get ready to get wet!), headless horseman, kids and bikes, dogs and trikes. The festivities continue with a BBQ lunch hosted by our Championship-winning Sleepy Hollow Swim Team, pool games in the afternoon, music, and entertainment for the younger children in the Clubhouse. In the evening a BBQ dinner starts with local oysters (better hurry as these go quickly!), followed by dancing to a live band until late in the evening. Fun for the entire family, it is a not-to-be-missed event and draws together the entire Hollow community
  • Happy Hour is held on occasional Friday evenings in the summer and includes beer, wine, soft drinks.
  • The President's Party is held in December inside the Clubhouse. The satellite clubs help with appetizers while wine and egg nog is provided by SHHA. The evening is designed to thank the outgoing President and their Board for their many hours of work they’ve dedicated throughout the year. It’s a fun evening and a way for SHHA members to mingle and celebrate the holiday season.
  • Holiday Kids Party: Held in December, this is an annual tradition with food, drinks and a special visit by Santa. Perfect for the little ones in your SHHA household.
